10 Fiverr Gig Ideas For Writers And How To Make Them Work

Updated on May 9, 2012

Need Help Getting Started On Fiverr?

Sometimes when you're treading in unfamiliar territory you just need someone to give you a gentle nudge to help you stay on the right path. And the terrain around Fiverr can be pretty rough.

I've put together 10 gigs that just about anyone can deliver with very little effort. In fact, most of them are so easy you'll wonder why you even needed my help!

If you can put together a Squidoo lens....

If you have your own blog about anything...

If you're a freelance article writer...

If you can string together 350 - 500 words that make sense...

Then YOU can use these gigs to make money on Fiverr...

And you could be doing it right now!

Before I start, let me make one thing perfectly clear....

I make no money from referring people to Fiverr. As far as I know they don't have an affiliate program. So feel free to click on any links you see. I make these Fiverr lenses because it warms up my writing Muse!

So easy, even a Monkey could do it!

I'm going to list out 10 different gigs. Feel free to use these to create your first gig on Fiverr. You're welcome to copy and paste if you need to but keep in mind - these Fiverr lenses are attracting a good bit of traffic. If somebody is already using a title or description then you'll have to change up your wording a bit because Fiverr doesn't allow duplicate content in the title or description.

That's not to say you can't use the same gig. Just look around Fiverr. There are lots of people who write articles or build Squidoo lenses. The key is to just get your gig created and start promoting it so you'll start to get some order.

Ready? Here we go!

Things You Should Know

  1. These gigs are all real and all will attract buyers. I've used every single one of them at one time or another on Fiverr. So don't worry. I'm not giving you some old, tired, outdated information. Feel free to copy these gigs - just make sure you tweak them where necessary so you're not promising something you can't deliver.
  2. For most of these gigs you're going to need an email address so you can confirm the accounts. You can't use your own because then the buyer won't be able to access his new account unless you give him YOUR log in information. And you definitely don't want to do that!

I use Hotmail and set up a new email address for each buyer. I keep these on file and use that same email address for every gig that particular buyer orders. You can also use Yahoo and Google. Don't use Google unless you have to. You have to use phone verification now and they'll only let you set up so many accounts. So save Google for emergenies.

  3. Visit these different sites and set up a few of your own blogs to see how they work so you know what you can and can NOT do. Trust me - buyers are going to be asking for all kinds of weird stuff and you don't want to promise something you can't deliver.
  4. Don't use the words "I won't copy and paste" on Fiverr. When you see those words on Fiverr ... it usually means that's exactly what they're going to do!
  5. It helps to include stuff like - "I'm a Platinum author at Ezine" or "I've been writing SEO content for umpteen years." When buyers see that in your description it just helps you stand out from the crowd a little.
  6. I have a template file set up so I just have to fill in the blanks, but you'll want to deliver a file to each buyer that includes the information for the email account you set up and the information for the blog or other account you set up for them. I don't keep copies of all the actual content but if you'd like to then go right ahead.
  7. I do keep a copy of all the articles and blog posts I've written but even that's not a necessity. You can always go back to the page where you delivered the gig and download the file you delivered to the buyer.
  8. Tweak these gigs and make sure you're not offering something you can't deliver. If you don't want to set up emails for everybody then tell them they have to send you the keyword and a new email address that you can use to create their accounts.
